GBZ Amuntai

This general public hospital for civilians was founded at  Amoentai (South east Borneo) in 1912 (Decision Director Onderwijs en Eeredienst of 26 April 1912 no. 6702, found in Regeeringsalmanak 1926, part I, p. 313). It was mentioned also in the Annex no.11446 to the NI Staatsblad of 30 August 1927, in which regulations were published concerning public hospitals for as far as the use, personnel and tariffs of these institutions was regarded. It was also mentioned in the Annex nr. 13808 to the Indisch Staatsblad (Statute book) of 9 February 1937. It was one of the smaller GBZs  (Gouvernements Burgerlijke Ziekeninrichting), as it was entitled to charge only nursing class 4 (tariff f 1,50).

At the end of 1937 the hospital was transferred to the groepsgemeenschap Bandjar, (Indisch Verslag 1938, 395).The capital town and seat of the administration of  the groepsgemeenschap was Bandjermasin. (Regeeringsalmanak 1942,part I,186). From that time it was converted from a gbz into a local hospital.
