Nowadays it is classified as a category C hospital (registration code: 3576036) with 160 beds. Together with the hospitals at Pare and Jember it is ruled by the same organization: PT Perkebunan Nusantara.
The hospital is established on Jalan Raden Wijaya no. 56 at Mojokerto (Jawa Timur).
Gatoel Hospital in the past, in 1927, was named "ESCHAUZIER KLINIK GATOEL" and was a subsidiary of the NETHERLANDS ONDERNEMING named "COOY & COSTER Van VOORHOUT". In 1968 regarding the establishment of the State Plantation Company or PNP which received a transition from PPN, where the regulation also formed PNP areas based on their respective regions such as PNP XXI for the Kediri residency area and PNP XXII for the Surabaya residency area.
In 1973 it was followed again by law no. 23 of 1973 which ordered the transfer of PNP to PT. Plantation (Persero) whose area is the same as the PNP area. Furthermore, with this law, a merger was held between PNP XXI and PNP XXII to become PT. Plantation XXI-XXII (Persero). Then PT. XXI-XXII Plantations, PT. XIX Plantations, and PT. XXVII Plantation (Persero) was merged/merged to become PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X (Persero) based on Government Regulation no. 15 of 1996 dated February 14, 1996, where PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X in its business manages 1 sack factory, 6 tobacco units, 3 hospitals and 11 sugar factories where one of them is Gatoel Hospital.
On January 19, 2013, to meet the demands of community development and to refer to Law No. 44 of 2009 concerning Hospitals, PT Nusantara Medika Utama was established as a subsidiary of PT Perkebunan Nusantara X (Persero). PT Nusantara Medika Utama runs a health service business, in which Gatoel Hospital is one of the hospitals under its management.
