
This establishment was founded near the town of Ngandjoek (East Jawa). Ngandjoek was a regency with a capital with the same name of the Residency Kediri. The regency had almost 475,000 inhabitants, among whom 750 Europeans and about 4,500 Chinese. The main town was situated on the railway to Soerabaja (Gonggryp, 1934).
