The Central Planters Hospital at Langsa (Atjeh) was mentioned in the Regeeringsalmanak 0f 1920, when the free hospital care of indigent patients and indigenous civil servants in the hospital of the Association “Het Centraal Planters Hospitaal te Langsa” was stopped as of 31 March 1919.
Langsa was a subdepartment and a selfgoverning Landschap of the same name, situated in the department of the Eastcoast of Atjeh of the Government Atjeh and Dependancies. The capital town was Langsa, situated at the Atjeh tramway. The subdepartment had 44,000 inhabitants, of whom 400 Europeans and 3,700 Chinese (Gonggryp 1934, 720).
