The company hospital Elisabeth was founded at Sitoebondo by the Sugar factories of North Besoeki.

Source: “Berichten en Mededeelingen”, Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde 72.I.15 (1928): “During the last decades a lot of sugar factories joined and cooperated, either alone or in cooperation with Missionary societies, region or municipality to establish large modern clinics. One of the examples is the Elisabeth hospital at Sitoebondo.

Sitoebondo was situated in the district of the same name in the regency of Panaroekan and the Residency of Besoeki in the province of East Java  (Gonggryp 1934, 587-588).
