The company hospital of the rubber and palmoil company Seunagan belonged to the Société financière  des caoutchoucs. The hospital of this company was visited on 13 March 1940 by the Governor General Jhr. Mr. A.W.L.Tjarda van Starkenborgh Stachouwer, when J.E.J.Penn (1907-1969) was medical director. No date of establishment is known. The son of Penn, Olaf Penn, married the present mayor of Maastricht, Johanna Maria te Strake.

Seunagan was a selfgoverning Landschap in the subdivision Meulaboh, diivision West coast of Atjeh, Government Atjeh and dependancies. It was a region of long  lasting resistance against the Dutch (Gonggryp 1934, 1291).
