Zendings hulpziekenhuis Cebongan

The auxiliary mission hospital of Tjebongan (Cebongan) was a shared project of a sugar plantation on Java and the Zending Gereformeerde Kerken.

From: Jubileumboek Petronella (1896-1936), pag. 50:

The auxiliary hospital Tjebongan was opened in 1929 at the sugar factory with the same name, a company of the family Enger. The hospital is not subsidized by the government. The nice building didnot long survive. As a consequence of the economic depression it was closed in 1932 and was maintained as an outpatient clinic by the company on its account. In view of the public interest the exploitation was continued after 19365 on account of the Gereformeerde Zending. A mantri nurse looks after the outpatient consults on a daily base.
