The NI Statutebook no. 34 of 21  January 1907 mentions the engagement of personnel for  a hospital yet to be established at Praja (Island Lombok, Residency Bali and Lombok). One servant at a monthly pay of f 10. The Government decision of 27 April 1914 no. 54 mentions the same hospital. The Addendumto the NI Statutebook no. 13808 of 9 February 1937 assigns the lowest nursing class 4 (Nursing tariff f 1.50) to this hospital.

In the 1930s Praja was the principal town of the subdepartment Central Lombok, department Lombok and Residency Bali and Lombok.
