Indigenous hospital Pangkajene

The Staatsblad van Nederlandsch Indie (NI Statutebook) no. 58 of 18 january 1904 mentions the Governmental Decision to appoint a servant on a monthly pay of f 10 for the Inlandsche ziekeninrichting  (indigenous hospital) at Pangkadjene (Sulawesi).

In the 1930s, Pangkadjene was a subdivision of the administrative division Makassar, Government Celebes and Dependencies. The administrator was a gezaghebber (Authority) Binnenlandsch Bestuur. The subdivision had 94,000 inhabitants, of whom 9 Europeans and 160 Chinese (Gonggryp 1934, 1128).
