The health resort or reconvalescence clinic of dr. Ploem was opened at Sindanglaya near Tjiandjoer (Province West Java, Regency Buitenzorg), about 1870. It was subsidized by the government on condition that civil servants and army officers should be treated at reduced prices. The KV 1872 mentions that an amount of ƒ 600 was contributed on a monthly basis.
