Venereal hospitals Medan

In 1885 a hospital for women suffering siphilis was completed at Medan (Residency of the Eastcoast of Sumatra). It got into use from 1886. And the formal assignment of personnel was issued in 1887. The practical use of this type of health institution was much criticised and like the other venereal hospitals it was closed on the first of May 1911.
