About 1909, this hospital was established at Balangnipa on the island of Sulawesi. The Indisch Staatsblad nr.69 of 1909 mentions this hospital as one of the general public hospitals that had its personnel appointed by the Netherlands Indies Government.From february 1909 a ziekenverpleger (nurse) was appointed at a salary of 10 guilders a month and a pharmacy servant at a salarys of 7.50 guilders a month.
Balangnipa was in the 1930s a selfgoverning Landscape with port and commercial activities, situated at the eastcoast of the SW peninsula of Sulawesi, subdivision Sindjai, division Bonthain, Government Celebes en onderhorigheden (Celebes and Dependencies), see Gonggryp 1934, 50.
