This hospital was established near Blitar and got some fame because of the treatment of victims after the outburst of the Gunung Keloed in the night of 18 to 19 May 1919,a volcano at the borders of the Residencies Kediri and Malang in East Java. It was an auxiliary hospital that was only once mentioned.

In the 1930s, Oedanawoe was a subdistrict of the Regency Blitar of the Residency Kediri in the province of East java.
